LearnWorlds is on a mission to educate. Our all-in-one platform empowers online trainers, educators and enterprises to create unique, interactive, and social learning experiences. A fully customizable, white-label solution to train employees and associates, educate customers or sell online courses to a wide audience.

Learnworlds enables its users to create whole e-learning websites, author online courses, and provides the tools to market & sell them both as B2B and B2C products. We have done this through the creation of a cloud based e-learning platform that can be tailored to the users specific needs. Much more than just selling online courses, we have created everything required for a holistic and complete online learning experience.

Today, LearnWorlds has c.5,000 customers in more than 120 countries with 40% of them coming from the US. Our headquarters are in Limassol, Cyprus, and we have offices in Chania, Greece, however over 90% of the 90-member team is fully remote. With the latest funding, the company plans to double the number of its current employees and reach 170 full-time employees in 2022 by hiring more international talent beyond Greece whilst opening an office in Athens.

Reflective of growing activity in the ed-tech sector, LearnWorlds has recently secured a $32m investment from Insight Partners, a world-class VC firm, with a view to boost customer success, accelerate the marketing function and build out the customer base, with a focus on SMBs.

The role

LearnWorlds is looking for a Business Intelligence Manager to shape the data strategy for our scale-up business. As the Business Intelligence Manager, you will define the vision and the mission of the BI function and you will hire and oversee the Data Analysts and Data Engineers that are needed to execute. You and your team will own the overall reporting – stack, procedures, strategy – across the company, including Performance, Product, Operational and Financial reporting. Collectively, your work will empower stakeholders to understand their business and customers by using data and enable the business to drive strategic decisions. In order to help you succeed in this, you will have access to practically all commercial data in the company and you will get to choose the tools you need to process them.

The successful candidate for the first few months should be ready to be hands-on, technical, and act as an individual contributor in order to kick things off. In parallel, they can start analyzing the department’s needs and plan future structure before starting to hire and grow the team.

For the role to be successful, it is crucial to understand and anticipate stakeholder needs and think big when recommending solutions; to be comfortable navigating an ambiguous environment; know how to confirm and reconfirm assumptions; be able to harmonize disparate points of view, and apply knowledge of use cases to propose the right solution. Responsibilities

  • Define and pitch the vision and the mission of Business Intelligence across the company
  • Foster a data-driven decision making culture throughout the company
  • Build the Business Intelligence roadmap; prioritize business insight requests to balance the tactical and strategic information needs of the business
  • Build and lead the Business Intelligence team that will be responsible for all reporting and ad-hoc requests
  • Optimize BI working processes towards agility & productivity
  • Lead the definition and governance of key business metrics, drive the vision and building of self-service analytic capabilities
  • Ensure a scalable reporting system is in place to provide automated reporting, insights, data visualizations, and data-driven storytelling
  • Develop a consultative approach and provide guidance to the team leaders on KPIs, metrics, and business decisions, including accurate analysis of user and business data
  • Define and manage a long-term vision and portfolio of initiatives to improve the customer experience and business results

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or commensurate experience (Statistics, Applied Math, Econometrics, Operations Research)
  • 5 or more years of experience in Data & Analytics
  • Proficient in Databases, Data Schemas, and Data Operations
  • Experience in relevant projects and team management experience
  • Experience with tools to analyze, manipulate and visualize datasets (e.g. SQL, Excel/Sheets, Python, Splunk, Tableau, PowerBI)
  • At least basic understanding of ETL
  • Commercially driven and able to understand how the business can utilize available data to improve revenue and customer experience
  • Ability to develop and evolve long-term strategies while driving tactical projects
  • Excellent interpersonal (verbal and written), teamwork, and communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Native or near native English
