HR Assistant

What you'll do and how you'll make an impact:

Our HR department is pretty new and small. But we are planning to grow carefully and add key members to the team that will enable the company move forward through its people and talent. The HR Assistant will be involved in a variety of responsibilities but more specifically:

  • Provide support to our team members on a day-to-day basis
  • Assist in maintaining our internal documentation and proactively create documentation for new processes and initiatives as needed
  • Develop and launch new people initiatives with comprehensive project briefs, communication plans, stakeholder buy-in, rollout, and retrospectives
  • Assist with People Operations administration including onboarding and offboarding tasks, preparing HR documentation, and executing team member requests
  • Consolidate feedback results (engagement surveys, onboarding surveys, etc.), communicate key themes to stakeholders and business partners, and develop action plans to address and make improvements based on feedback
  • Identify opportunities to automate People Operations tasks and tackle process inefficiencies and inconsistencies to build improved and more productive processes that impact the overall people experience
  • Support in onboarding new team members to the company and continuously iterating processes to maintain a best-in-class experience for new hires alongside team leads
  • Communicate with public services to handle a variety of personnel-related duties and process hiring documentation
  • Compile and update employee records and internal databases

Requirements

  • Possess 2+ years of experience in HR, people operations or a similar role
  • Have a natural tendency to be organized with outstanding attention to detail and ability to prioritize effectively
  • Work well autonomously—you enjoy being given a challenge and finding your own ways to solve it
  • Demonstrate excellent project management skills, with an ability to manage both small to large scale programs with tight timelines, and work closely with key stakeholders
  • Handle confidential information with discretion—you’ve been trusted with this in the past
  • Be fanatical about customer success—you put our people first and work to find solutions to create exceptional team member experiences with our People team
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills—you’re just as comfortable sending off a carefully planned email to the team as you are having an unscheduled phone call with a software vendor
  • Know how to work smarter, not harder— you’re resourceful and would rather invest time in finding tech-based solutions to automate workflows than to stick to how it’s always been done
  • Have an above-average technical aptitude or interest in tech and a strong understanding of the latest communication/productivity tools and systems (e.g. Bob, Workable, Asana, Slack etc.)
