You can place the lamps on each side of your camera and point the light toward your face. And if the light is too harsh, you can use some diffusion material (e.g., white kitchen roll) to hang with clothespins over the lights.<\/p>\n<p>Natural light is the best choice if you want to avoid costs. Pick a brightly lit spot to record with the light source facing you rather than coming from behind you.<\/p>\n<p>Use a piece of aluminum paper to reflect the light coming from the window and point it to the darkest side of your face. Just like this, shadows disappear. And keeping students engaged is crucial to get them to come back for more.<\/p>\n<p>In Zoom, for example, you can ask participants to raise their hands to ask a question or use \u201creactions\u201d to clap or give a thumbs up regarding a question or assignment. The reaction disappears after 5 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Other creative ways to draw students into the content while using Zoom are:<\/p>\n<ol class=\"newsletter-list\">\n<li><strong>Placing students in small groups<\/strong> or pairs within a session to engage in group activities (discussions, projects, problem-solving, etc.). When combined with other tools such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jotform.com\/how-to-use-google-forms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Google Forms<\/a> and Google Docs, students can co-construct texts in groups. You can broadcast messages to the rooms, enter the rooms to monitor tasks, and bring students back into the central meeting.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Urging participants to select different feedback types<\/strong> (Yes, No, Agree, Disagree, Thumbs up, Thumbs down, Go Slower, Go Faster, Applause, Coffee, Clock). The icon is shown in the participant panel next to their name. You can remove one or all icons at once and have access to a summary indicating how many participants have selected each icon.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Including live polling<\/strong>. You can submit single choice or multiple choice polling questions during a meeting. Questions are created before and launched during the session. You can show slide show presentations either on full screen or simultaneously with the active speaker in a window.<\/p>\n<p>You can also share the screen captured by a secondary camera (for example, you can join your Zoom meeting on your phone to be able to use its camera as a <a href=\"https:\/\/harvard.service-now.com\/ithelp?id=kb_article&amp;sys_id=4c3290f6db5b845430ed1dca4896197f#mce_temp_url#\">second camera<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Zoom also provides a whiteboard with several drawing tools. You and your students can (if enabled by you) annotate the content shared on the screen using text, lines, arrows, shapes, or a highlighter. You can now get your Webex up and running through their online school in literally five clicks (Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/support.learnworlds.com\/support\/solutions\/articles\/12000076317-how-to-integrate-webex-with-your-learnworlds-school\">here<\/a>) or<\/p>\n<p>2) You can embed a live YouTube video using a <a href=\"https:\/\/support.learnworlds.com\/support\/solutions\/articles\/12000031414-how-to-do-a-live-class-or-webinar-with-youtube-live\">few simple steps<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Step10\" class=\"title-with-block\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step_10_Start_your_Live_Stream\"><\/span>Step 10: Start your Live Stream<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Once you feel comfortable, you can schedule your first meeting. Do this on your Learning Management System, and send the link to your students.<\/p>\n<p>Decide if you want to allow students to share their screens before the meeting starts or if only you will share your screen. Also, you may want to mute all participants\/some participants during the live session.<\/p>\n<p>When you start the meeting or the webinar with Zoom, you can screen share or use a document camera to share valuable content.<\/p>\n<p>P.S.: You can always change your virtual background just for fun. You can select one of the preloaded backgrounds or upload your own.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Step11\" class=\"title-with-block\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step_11_Hit_the_Recording_Button\"><\/span>Step 11: Hit the Recording Button<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You will probably want to hit the record button, so some students can later access the live class (for Zoom, all records are available at <a href=\"http:\/\/zoom.us\/recording\">zoom.us\/recording<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Record to the Cloud, rather than on your computer. It&#8217;s convenient to record to the cloud, as you can receive both a URL to the video and an interactive transcript.
