About the role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team and support the company’s financial and accounting operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, handling tax and VAT obligations, performing reconciliations, and supporting month-end and year-end procedures. This role requires strong organizational skills, knowledge of Cyprus tax and accounting practices, and the ability to work both independently and within a team.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain bookkeeping records and general ledger accounts, including bank and creditors reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts for internal stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Liaise with external consultants and auditors
• Maintain strong knowledge of Cyprus tax legislation and compliance requirements across all relevant tax areas (including direct taxation, VAT, social insurance, and other statutory obligations) and ensure the timely submission of all tax filings and statutory returns.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational challenges within the accounting department, ensuring adherence to internal procedures and the efficient execution of daily activities.
• Perform internal reviews and maintain proper supporting documentation to meet financial reporting and audit standards.
• Lead initiatives to enhance accounting processes, workflows, and functional efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve financial procedures and provide financial insights where needed.

Requirements

• Professional Certification: Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA).
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience; Big 4 experience will be considered a strong advantage.
• Language Skills: Excellent command of Greek and English, both written and spoken.
• Technical Skills:
• Prior experience with NetSuite or SAP is essential.
• Strong IT literacy with solid knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Core Competencies:
• High attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to identify opportunities for process and functional improvements.
