Want to drive engagement in your training? The Assessment Builder supports variables using the Liquid template language. For example, you can use {{user.name}} and depending on who the user is, they will see their own name.
There are 3 kinds of variables: System, Previous submission and Ending screen.
You can also use pre-made code snippets that can be utilized in various use cases like displaying different grade formats (letter grading, GPA) or assessing the speed of the exam completion.

Assessments are offered as a learning activity within the course builder.
To add an assessment to an existing course, go to Courses > Content > Add Activity.
There are five different types of learning activities that can be used for assessments:
- Live Sessions
Schedule 1-1 or Group Sessions with your learner(s) to assess their knowledge live via video conferencing.
- Exams
Create graded exams with closed and/or open-ended questions. You can use a wealth of question types, like Multiple Choice and Multiple Answer with text, image, video, audio, true/false, drop-down options, Matching and Ordering questions, Text, File, and Video assignments.
You can also choose one of the available exam templates to save time from manually creating text, file, and video or audio assignments.
- Self-assessments
Add self-assessment sections to your courses where students can write down their thoughts, goals, objectives, or feedback.
- Forms
Use forms to collect data from your learners, like short bio, demographics, learning preferences, course and instructor evaluation, and any other piece of information that is not meant to be graded but is important for your own records.
- Certificates
Create branded certificates that are issued automatically upon the successful completion of a course or a training program.
As soon as you create an assessment, you can apply your own rules by editing its settings. For example, you can set time limits for exams, randomize questions, define passing grades, or issue feedback reports.
