Our mission is to help expertise reach and change more people, and accessibility is a necessary part of that work.

We are improving LearnWorlds so that more learners can access learning with fewer barriers. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we continue to audit, test, review, and improve the learner experience over time.

 

Guiding standards

LearnWorlds is actively working toward stronger alignment with WCAG 2.2 Level AA and applicable European accessibility requirements.

Accessibility improvements are being delivered progressively across the platform, prioritizing the areas that can most directly impact on the learner’s experience, and review regularly.

We validate scoped improvements through a combination of automated checks and manual reviews including keyboard navigation, screen reader testing, and quality assurance.

 

Our approach to accessibility

Our current accessibility work is focused on learner-facing experiences, starting with the Course Player and course navigation experience.

This work focuses on making the Course Player structure and navigation easier to understand and operate using keyboard navigation and assistive technologies.

Future iterations will progressively expand accessibility coverage across additional learner-facing areas of LearnWorlds.

LearnWorlds also enables customers to create, configure, customize, and publish their own schools, websites, courses, and learning content.

The accessibility of these experiences can depend on customer configuration, content choices, design customization, third-party tools, and custom code.

 

Creating accessible learning experiences using LearnWorlds

Accessibility also depends on how each school creates, configures, and reviews its own content. This includes videos, audio, images, downloadable resources, course structure, visual customization, third-party content, and custom code.

School admins and course creators should review the accessibility of the experiences and content they publish.

We are expanding our accessibility guidance to help customers make informed choices and evaluate their schools more easily.

LearnWorlds provides platform capabilities and guidance that can help school admins create more accessible learning experiences.

Our accessibility resources will include practical guidance on topics such as:

• Creating accessible video content.
• Using subtitles, captions, and transcripts.
• Writing meaningful alternative text for images.
• Preparing accessible PDFs and downloadable resources.
• Choosing accessible colors and visual styles.
• Reviewing custom code and third-party content.
• Testing courses with keyboard navigation and screen readers.

 

Known limitations

LearnWorlds is improving learners’ accessibility progressively, and not all areas of the platform have yet been evaluated or improved against the same accessibility baseline.

Our platform is currently partially compliant and we are working on closing these gaps. We are working toward stronger alignment with WCAG Level AA across key learner experiences. We prioritize improvements based on user impact and review our backlog regularly.

We aim to extend these improvements to admin-facing features as part of our long-term development roadmap.

Creating an inclusive learning environment is a journey we take together. While LearnWorlds provides the foundational platform capabilities and guidance to support accessibility, the final experience is a collaborative effort between our technology and your unique course structure and content.

We encourage school admins to review their schools, websites, and courses to ensure they meet the needs of all learners. Since design choices, uploaded content, and third-party tools play such a significant role, we are committed to being by your side throughout this process.

To support you in creating the best possible experience for your students, LearnWorlds is continuously expanding our library of resources and practical guidance to help you evaluate and improve accessibility across your school.

To make your learning content as inclusive as possible, we recommend:

• Designing PDFs and documents with accessibility in mind.
• Verifying that SCORM or HTML5 packages are accessible.
• Reviewing the accessibility features of any third-party tools.
• Testing custom code for contrast and navigation.
• Choosing clear, readable colors and typography.

We are actively developing a suite of resources to make it easier for you to track our progress and implement accessibility best practices. As these tools become available, we will share updates and guidance to support your efforts.
